Pseudagrion sublacteum (Karsch, 1893) – Cherry-eye Sprite
NL: Roodsnuitjonker | DE: Kirschaugen Elfe | FR: ?

In June 2025, the author of this website found a single male Cherry-eye Sprite on a rock in the river Guadiaro in Andalusia, Spain. This observation encompassed the first record ever of the species (or genus Pseudagrion, for that matter) in Europe. The species is widespread in sub-Saharan Africa and has a couple of populations in Morocco. It seems a likely hypothesis that the male in Spain was carried into Spain by the wind.
