Calopteryx haemorrhoidalis (Copper Demoiselle) has a geographical range restricted to the western Mediterranean: Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia in Africa, Portugal, Spain, southern France, Monaco and Italy in Europe, both on mainland and on islands. Within this range it’s a common species that can be found on streams and rivers where it often shares habitat with other Calopteryx species.
