Platycnemis kervillei (Martin, 1909) – Powdered Featherleg
NL: Berijpte breedscheenjuffer | DE: Bereifte Federlibelle

Powdered Featherleg is a species endemic to the Levant, from southeast Turkey to Israel and eastward to northern Iraq. Like other species in the same genus Platycnemis kervillei have a very broad head and females and immature males possess double antehumeral stripes. They lack the broad tibiae typical for the genus though and males get covered with a powdered, waxy substance when mature. This powdery substance lends them their vernacular names in English, Dutch and German.
In Turkey, the area around Adana is a good place to look for this species.
