Europe’s largest clubtail reproduces in lakes and slow-flowing rivers, often characterised by large reed belts. Distribution in Europe is scattered, with populations in Italy (mainland and Sardinia) and the Balkans. Distribution outside Europe includes Central Asia and Arabia. Bladetails are nomadic.
