Orthetrum taeniolatum (Schneider, 1845) – Small Skimmer
NL: Kleine oeverlibel | DE: Zierlicher Blaupfeil | FR: ?

Orthetrum taeniolatum (Small Skimmer) is the smallest Orthetrum in our area. It only barely reaches Europe: it can be found on the east Aegaean islands and Cyprus. It’s a common species in Turkey, the Levant, Arabia and all the way to India and China. Small Skimmers breed in slow-flowing streams, imagos are often found perching on rocky or sandy patches in the beds of these streams.
