Trithemis arteriosa (Burmeister, 1839) – Red-veined Dropwing
NL: Rode Zonnewijzer | DE: Rotader-Sonnenzeiger | FR: Trithémis écarlate

Red-veined Dropwing is a common species in large parts of Africa. Outside Africa its area of distribution includes western Asia, Cyprus and some Greek islands (with observations from at least Crete, Kos and Rhodes). It is not unlikely that this species will also expand into continental Europe in the near future, as the closely related Trithemis annulata and T. kirbyi have done in recent years.
